Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Toaster Central (toastercentral.com, owned by Michael Sheafe) collects and how it is used.
What we collect when you order
Your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (if you give one), and what you bought. This is used only to fill and ship your order, send your receipt, and keep the store’s sales and tax records.
Payments
Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored on this website. Stripe’s own privacy policy covers how it handles payment information.
Shipping
When you type your ZIP code on an item’s page or at checkout, the ZIP is sent to the US Postal Service to look up postage. Your shipping address is used to mail your order by USPS.
Cookies
The site uses a few small cookies to make the store work: to keep your cart, to remember your ZIP code for the checkout, and to send the “Continue shopping” button back to the page you were browsing. Stripe may set its own cookies at checkout to help prevent fraud. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Protecting the site
To stop abuse of the postage lookup, the site briefly keeps a scrambled (unreadable) version of the visitor’s internet address, deleted automatically after 10 minutes.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t share it with anyone except Stripe and USPS as described above.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes [Michael or his accountant to confirm, e.g. 7 years].
Newsletter — only if the site gets a signup form: “If you sign up for email updates, your email address is kept by Mailchimp and used only to send occasional news from Toaster Central. Every email has an unsubscribe link.”
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to us. Order records needed for tax purposes may have to be kept.
